THE STATE OF THE STR COMMUNITY SURVEY
The industry’s largest survey to chart the path toward sustainable regulations and strong, engaged STR communities everywhere.
About the Survey and Report
Rent Responsibly has partnered with the College of Charleston and the Riley Center for Livable Communities on a first-of-its-kind research initiative: The State of the STR Community Report. This two-phased study explores both sides of the conversation around municipal management of short-term rentals. First, researchers conducted in-depth interviews and panel discussions with municipal staff from varied markets across the US to uncover their perspectives, needs and challenges.
Next, the short-term rental industry will be coming together this fall to conduct the inaugural State of the STR Community Survey, the largest survey of its kind (this is where our partners come in!) The survey aims to reach at least 4,000 hosts and managers nationwide and will quantify the positive economic and employment impacts STRs have on their communities, distill challenges operators face in complying with local regulations, and uncover solutions for effective short-term rental management.
This critical research will help uncover missing links between STRs and their local economies and governments, spotlight data and solutions that can drive more effective regulatory outcomes, and generate other insights to ultimately create stronger and more sustainable STR communities everywhere.
