September funding cycle supports statewide growth in Texas and Washington

The Right to Rent Collaborative (R2RC) today announced two new grants awarded in its September 2025 funding cycle to short-term rental (STR) associations advancing advocacy and organizational development at the statewide level. This round adds $20,000 in funding to R2RC’s 2025 grant program, bringing additional capacity to emerging associations working to protect the right to rent.

The recipients:

  • Texas Short-Term Rental Association (TXSTRA) received a $10,000 Growth Grant to support the launch of its statewide operations. Funding will jump-start Phase 1 of TXSTRA’s go-to-market plan, including hiring part-time executive support, launching public membership, and building momentum ahead of the 2027 legislative session.
  • Washington Hosts Collaborative Alliance (WHCA) received a $10,000 Growth Grant to hire a part-time executive director and launch membership campaigns, strengthening its ability to represent an estimated 16,000 STR operators and allied businesses across Washington state.

“Each grant we award builds the foundation for stronger statewide associations that can advocate effectively, serve their members, and ensure short-term rentals remain part of thriving local economies,” said Julie Marks, President of R2RC. “We are proud to support both TXSTRA and WHCA as they take critical steps to organize hosts and managers in two of the nation’s most important STR markets.”

R2RC was founded to transform how short-term rental advocacy is funded and sustained. Its vision is to see strong, fully staffed state associations in all 50 states, a connected network of leaders, and a robust membership base that can respond quickly and effectively to policy challenges. The grant program is one way R2RC delivers on this mission, supporting associations as they grow, launch new initiatives, and build long-term capacity.

These grants were made possible thanks to the generous support of its donors and property management software partners, who are recognized as critical champions in shaping the future of STR advocacy, including: ZPoint by Rentalz, Airbnb, Vrbo, part of Expedia Group, Inhabit, Avalara, Proper Insurance, Breezeway, Maui Paradise Properties, Hostfully, Guesty, Hospitable, Escapia, Barefoot, OwnerRez, BookingsCloud, Boostly, Evolve, PriceLabs, TechTape, CanMonkey, Truvi, Track, and HostGPO.GPO.
